Where did we come from? And where are we going? The answers may lie in the DNA that composes our bodies, if only we can understand what it is telling us.
Darwin’s theory of evolution caused outrage when it was first published – how dare he suggest that humans descended (or should that be devolved) from apes.
In the one hundred and fifty years since, it has become apparent the theory of evolution has so many flaws and holes youcould drive a truck through them. Even Darwin himself admitted the weakness of his thesis, wondering where the missing links in geological strata were, if his theory was correct.
Of late, science has picked up on the notion of panspermia, the seeding of life from“out there”. It is only a hop, skip and a jump to the notion that perhaps visitors from beyond landed on Earth and gave early civilisations the tools to leap ahead of the hunter/gatherer stage.
Six primary centres of culture seem to have developed almost simultaneously, although they were separated by distance and oceans. They were: Mexico, Peru, Egypt, Sumer, the Indus Valley and China.
Naturally, the theory of extraterrestrial progenitors does not really solve the question of origin. It merely removes it one step back.
However, it is much more comforting to the human psyche to believe we are descended from an advanced race than a bunch of tree-dwellers. Religion should be happy with the idea as well, as it does not rule out the idea of a divine creator at some other remove.
Each of the six civilisations has left various enigmas behind, one example of which is the largely unknown pyramids of China.
Starting with the first book of the Bible, Genesis, we are confronted with that strange passage about “the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whoever they chose.”
Then there is the Garden of Eden, where it is mentioned that the sound of the Lord God was heard walking in the garden. The author rightly says this suggests a physical entity rather than a spirit.
Later there is the establishment of the civilisation of Sumer, which had been regarded as folklore, until the actual discovery of its foundation. Sumer seems to have sprung up out of nowhere with its mathematics, trades, writing, metallurgy and music, just to name a few.
Curiously, the Sumerians themselves refer to a god of Heaven and Earth who descended to our planet in order to present them with these gifts.
The mystery of the Great Pyramid of Egypt with its precision mathematics continues to confound archaeologists.
Despite the popular conception it was intended as a tomb for a pharaoh, there is no direct evidence it was ever used for that purpose.
With regard to the obscure Chinese pyramids, the custodian of a monastery with 5,000 year old records told a recent Western visitor that the structures pre-dated the monastery’s record-keeping!
There is suspicion the current Chinese government may be trying to conceal something. Perhaps it is connected with the very early emperors who claimed they were descendants of the “sons of heaven who roared down to this planet on their fiery metallic dragons”.
Many thousands of miles away, the Olmecs in ancient Mexico were carving figures out of jade and basalt, which in terms of hardness, are only a few degrees below that of diamonds.
There are figures depicting Caucasian males, nearly 4,000 years ago, millennia before the Spanish would arrive.
The Mayans refer to a white man, who, with 19 assistants, came across the sea in a boat that moved by itself, to instruct them how to use fire and cook.
The ruins of the Incan city of Tiahuanaco in South America feature titanic 400 ton construction blocks. Oddly, there has been no suggestion by archaeologists they too were constructed by slaves using ramps in this case – it’s maybe just too much of a stretch.
Other matters dealt with in The Genesis Race are the domestication of plants and dogs, which are not as simple as would appear on first glance.
We have no idea how the fierce wolf could have mutated into a dog with a loyal, affectionate, obedient nature. Was this purely the result of accident, or did someone else have a hand in it?
Hart makes the point that although dogs and wolves are the same at the DNA level, they display very different hereditary characteristics.
Our supposed “Gods” in prehistory might not necessarily be extraterrestrials, when we look at the overwhelming planetary catastrophes experienced over many thousands of years.
There are myths suggesting the population of the world was reduced to a tiny remnant, not only once, but several times.
Suppose those survivors were members of an advanced society almost at the same technological level as ourselves?
Imagine survivors of a future nuclear war, flying over the rainforests of Brazil or the wilds of NewGuinea and landing to kick start civilisation once again.
Although much of the information in this book will be familiar to those who have researched the mysteries of the forgotten past, it is good to see it gathered together in a reader-friendly, comprehensive package.
To anyone new to the subject, it will be a major revelation. Good solid research without wild speculation, it proves there is evidence of something very odd in our past.
