Just when you thought everything that could be said had been said about the Law of Attraction, here is another DVD presentation focused on this particular law of the universe.
      Not surprisingly, it is called ‘Beyond the Secret’ and promises to offer additional information and insights that literally go beyond the now famous Australian produced DVD, not surprisingly entitled, ‘The Secret’.
      Most New Dawn readers will be familiar, in one form or another, with the incredibly successful book and DVD, ‘The Secret’, which swept the world in 2006. The basic plot was a delightful story woven around a “mystical secret” only the wealthy and elite know. This obscure secret is passed down the generations, hidden in ancient manuscripts, and taught in secret societies. To know and live this mystical secret ensures all your dreams come true, promised the original DVD.
      Few could resist such a promise and the DVD became hugely successful to the point that its creator, Rhonda Byrne, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show – fame indeed.
      Despite such noble intentions, ‘The Secret’ was not immune to controversy, as one teacher withdrew and was edited out of the final DVD, although there are pirated copies of the original DVD with this particular teacher appearing in it.
      The popularity of the Law of Attraction sparked other “New Age” teachers, including Louise Hay and Wayne Dyer, to produce their own DVD versions of this kind of information.
      One of the participants in the original ‘The Secret’, Bob Proctor, along with others who did not appear in the original DVD, created a new DVD with information they believe needed to be emphasised and clarified. So was born ‘Beyond the Secret’.
      The DVD begins with an insight from Holli Walker who shares her difficult early life, and then how through applying the wisdom of the Law of Attraction she created a new life that was rich with success.
      There then follows a series of interviews with “master teachers” such as Christian Simpson, Marcia Wieder and others to offer their insights and beliefs about the whole process.
      The DVD promises “new tools to make the Law of Attraction work for you in any economy, in any situation,” and it offers small snippets on issues such as meeting resistance, abusive relationships, increasing your income and success in today’s economy.
      Of course, as most readers would agree, the secret behind “the secret” is that it is not a secret and never has been. Perhaps even more importantly, the Law of Attraction is not the only law of the universe. This fact, sadly, is not explored in the original ‘The Secret’ or ‘Beyond the Secret’.
      I want to make it clear that I thoroughly support the exploration of the Law of Attraction from a studied and psychological explorative point of view. When we embrace this wisdom, from a spiritually mature aspect, there are indeed riches beyond measure, for it offers us deep insights into our personal and collective illusions and delusions.
      However, to truly understand the Law of Attraction we should also look at our world, a world which is an expression of our joint or combined energies, to see what we are collectively manifesting or attracting.
      Surely the events of the “global economic meltdown” point to the fact that more people are embracing the Law of Attraction and have been using its methods to guiltlessly and often ruthlessly line their own pockets to the detriment of others. Surely, it is not a coincidence that the original DVD impacted the collective psyche only two years or so before this collective economic melt-down.
      On the positive side, of course, because of those amongst us who have a deeper understanding of the other great laws, such as the Law of Compassion and the Law of Oneness, we are seeing most countries recovering very rapidly, much quicker than we saw after the Great Crash of the 1920s.
      This indicates that the positive aspects of the Law of Attraction have been embraced and the shame, guilt or feelings of failure suffered by our grandparents during the previous economic meltdowns have not occurred this time.
      Of course, whether we have recognised that we need to embrace all the great laws of the universe, not just the ones we like, is yet to be seen.
      ‘Beyond the Secret’ does have its own website and you can contact the teachers, predominantly Bob Proctor, through it. I attempted to do so, to pose these kinds of questions, but to no avail.
      This DVD is well produced, very professional, and does offer insights into applying and understanding the Law of Attraction. I do recommend it to anyone who wants to gain deeper insights into this vital element of the universe.
      With that said, I also recommend readers continue their own exploration beyond this particular secret into the deeper regions of their own psyche. As the wise ones have always told us, to know oneself is the primary law of the universe and knowing the Law of Attraction definitely points you in that direction.
