Aura-Soma is a relatively recent entrant into the mainstream of alternative healing therapies. But what a brilliant gift to the healing community!
Here is healing by colour. Not just physical healing, but also for the subtle bodies that are so often neglected. This is the introduction to a true soul therapy.
Mostly autobiographical, this volume has been re-issued and edited to increase understanding of the material.
The bulk of the text is Vicky Wall’s fascinating life story, then an overview of the Aura-Soma Equilibrium range, supported by notes, glossary and index.
Vicky Wall developed Aura-Soma after half a lifetime of natural healing. She had been clairvoyant since childhood, which brought success in her healing clinic.
In 1979 through a series of health crises she lost her physical sight. Very soon after this, the incredible twin healing colours began to appear to her inner self and the beginning of the Equilibrium chakra range appeared.
These are bottles containing a mixture of gem essences, herbal infusions and natural essential oils mixed with pure colour. The colours separate due to there being a mixture of oils and water and hence the two-tone look of the bottles.
The picture of the bottles on the cover of the book, although vibrant, does not begin to do justice to the real thing. The complete array of the 105 bottles is breathtaking in the beauty of its individual and collective elements. You can feel yourself being drawn toward them.
Vicky passed on in 1991 and the Aura-Soma work is continued in England. They train practitioners and carry on the healing work all over the world. There is a very active Aura-Soma community in Australia in New Zealand as well as Europe and North America.
The human eye is immediately attracted to the colours, and the inner voice will advise you on what colour you need at a particular time. The bottles balance the energy of the chakras and what physical effects you feel, depend on what caused the physical imbalance.
The book is careful to point out that you don’t have to buy all of the bottles, which can be quite expensive.
If an interest in the colours captures you, you can just as easily meditate by using silk scarves, coloured glass or coloured cellophane paper to take in the vibrations of the colours.
The style of the book is very accessible. Vicky relates her unusual life story in a matter-of-fact way, and yet for this reviewer, her words shook me to the core. I kept asking myself why I had not known of this woman before.
The more I read, the more feelings and thoughts filled my head. I felt that I had to find an Aura-Soma practitioner to talk about it. It is not often that a plainly-written book can affect the reader in such a dramatic fashion. Perhaps the Ringing Cedars have a similar effect.
My overall impression is that this non-invasive and perfectly natural therapy is truly one for the new millennium. I would not say this from just reading a book.
I did find a practitioner in my local area and have had several sessions with her. The sessions I had were derived from my own temporal position in life, not by the therapist. It was fascinating and strangely empowering.
I note that many practitioners also have qualifications in other modalities such as Reiki, massage and aromatherapy. This is not a bad thing.
This book does tend to whet the appetite of a person who is ready for further exploration. It is far from being a complete handbook and guide for Aura-Soma but contains enough information to use as a signpost to extend your journey in a very spiritual direction.
There is no particular religious stance recommended, but I noticed a belief in the Ascended Masters and the concepts from the various ‘I AM’ teachings, with Theosophy a given.
This book is recommended for anyone interested in natural healing. That includes all seekers after a holistic experience of self-development and healing.
The book will also provide a firm basis for healers who want to know more about this fascinating mode of colour healing. For further information, Aura-Soma’s Australian website is: www.aura-soma.com.au.
Happy rainbow colours to all readers.
